Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating affecting the whole body or a specific area of skin. It is a rather unpleasant condition and can occur in unusual circumstances: in fairly cool weather or even without any apparent trigger.
Consequently, for people with hyperhidrosis, the need to constantly manage excessive sweating can become a significant problem.

Excessive sweating can cause not only severe discomfort but also a number of health problems.
Skin damp with sweat provides a breeding ground for microorganisms, which is what causes unpleasant odours.
Furthermore, sweat causes skin irritation, and any damage to the skin acts as a gateway for microorganisms such as staphylococci, streptococci and fungi. As a result, abscesses may form on the skin.
There can be various reasons for excessive sweating:

Particular attention should be paid to hyperhidrosis that has started to manifest itself relatively recently (over the last 1–6 months).
It has also been noted that hyperhidrosis is more common in people who are overweight. This is due to the increased body surface area and, consequently, the greater number of sweat glands. Furthermore, fatty tissue is capable of retaining large amounts of moisture, which is subsequently released along with sweat. In addition, physical activity in people who are overweight stimulates the production of greater amounts of sweat.
Botulinum toxin type A injections are used to treat hyperhidrosis by blocking the nerve signals that cause excessive sweating. This results in the sweat glands no longer functioning as intensely as they did before treatment.
In a large-scale study of the efficacy of botulinum toxin injections for the treatment of hyperhidrosis involving 320 patients, 94% achieved treatment success (defined as a 50% reduction in underarm sweating from baseline), and 82% maintained this success at 16 weeks following the procedure. Repeated administration of the drug after a period of reduced underarm sweating of approximately 5 months is safe, with potentially increased or equivalent efficacy. Other studies have also demonstrated efficacy of over 90%, with improvement occurring over the first 22 weeks (the effect lasted 4–9 months).

Excessive sweating can occur not only in the underarm area. Quite often, hyperhidrosis also affects the palms, soles of the feet or the entire face, which significantly impacts everyday comfort.

Sweating often intensifies when you are anxious, but in many cases it occurs even when you are at rest. Hyperhidrosis is not a matter of hygiene.
