What is microneedle RF lifting?
Microneedle RF lifting is a cosmetic procedure that works on the deep layers of the skin and targets collagen and elastin fibres. It is these fibres that give the face its defined contours.
During microneedle RF lifting, high-energy radio waves are transmitted through the microneedles deep into the skin, creating a ‘column’ effect. Each of these tiny columns is surrounded by a large volume of undamaged tissue, which subsequently serves as a reserve for rapid renewal and rapid re-epithelialisation (regrowth of tissue). This process ensures that the skin recovers quickly.
All this is done to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in response to the effects of microneedles and electromagnetic waves. As a result, the patient is left with rejuvenated skin and fewer wrinkles.
What is microneedle RF lifting used for?
The microneedle fractional RF lifting procedure provides a noticeable skin-tightening effect whilst simultaneously rejuvenating the face and reducing wrinkles. The technique is also used to reduce scars, including acne scars, and to improve skin quality.
A facelift is used for:
- combating gravitational ptosis (sagging) of the face;
- lifting and restoring the definition of the facial contours;
- correction of drooping upper eyelids;
- combating a double chin;
- reduction of fine lines under the eyes and on the neck;
- post-acne treatment;
- skin tightening in the abdominal area (for example, following significant weight loss or pregnancy), as well as improving the condition of the skin in other areas: on the inner surfaces of the arms and legs, behind the knees, and on the buttocks.

How does the procedure have a positive effect on the skin:
- Thin needles penetrate the skin to the depth required for the procedure. Depending on the condition of the skin, this depth can vary from 0.5 to 4.0 mm.
- Radiofrequency energy is then delivered to the skin and stimulates the production of more collagen.
- The microneedles create a thermal injury with tiny pillars. This damage causes the body to react and go into healing mode, which stimulates collagen production.
- As a result of the penetration of electromagnetic waves into the skin, the body’s natural reaction occurs to the formation of new tissue rich in collagen.
- All this tightens the skin, reduces scars, wrinkles, stretch marks and fine lines on the skin. The overall texture and appearance of the skin improves and pores become smaller. The procedure is also very useful for active acne and acne scars.
One of the advantages of the technique is that it is suitable for a wide range of people. But even this procedure has certain contraindications:
- pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- infectious and viral diseases during exacerbation;
- hemophilia;
- permanent implant in the treatment area (for example, metal screws, plates or silicone implants);

Microneedle fractional radiofrequency lifting is a well-established and proven technique. A number of clinical studies have been conducted to demonstrate the procedure’s effectiveness. One of these studies showed that, four weeks after fractional radiofrequency lifting, 83% of patients experienced an improvement in skin tone, 87% saw an improvement in skin firmness, and 90% noticed a reduction in the number of wrinkles.

To ensure that the results of the facelift are as effective as possible and last longer, you should follow these simple guidelines:
- After the session, you may notice some slight erythema (redness of the skin) and swelling. There’s no need to panic – these symptoms will subside within 1–2 days of the procedure.
- It is best not to touch the skin at all for the first few hours after the facelift.
- For the first 1–4 days following the procedure, gently treat the skin with 0.05% chlorhexidine.
- You should not undergo any other cosmetic procedures for 14 days.
- If small scabs appear, do not touch or pick at them.
- For the first two weeks, you should avoid swimming pools, saunas, strenuous exercise, sunbathing and make-up.
- It is recommended that you use sunscreen with SPF 50 to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.
- To maintain your fluid balance and aid rapid recovery, you should drink 2–3 litres of clean, still water a day.
